Surpassing in terms of active users Twitter, in Romania, Instagram and Foursquare are gaining ground. Let’s see some figures published by Zelist, a Romanian monitoring tool.
On Foursquare, with 147,000 locations monitorized in Romania, Zelist found 90,000 users , 12 million check-ins, 70,000 tips for locations and around 3 million visitors.
64,000 Romanians are active on Instagram, where they uploaded nearly 5 million pictures, 73,000 videos and commented on 4 million occasions. About 400K Instagram pics are tagged with hashtag #romania.
The most photographed places on Instagram are Henry Coanda International Airport, Herastrau Park from Bucharest, National Arena and the beautiful beach from Vama Veche.
The most avid users of Foursquare are people living in Constanta and not from Bucharest as most expected. The biggest number of check-ins takes place on two locations: Baneasa Shopping Center & Bucharest ‘s Old Town. The most popular venues are the Romana Square and Unirii Square – both in Bucharest.
Among VIPs, Inna’s photos are most appreciated on Instagram.
It also seems that Romanians are using excessively these 3 hashtags: #love, #instagood and #instamood.
