The Online Media landscape in Russia looks like a gladiator arena – lots of really strong gladiators and just the same number of lions who try to “shred” those big players in small little pieces. Mail.Ru Group, one of the biggest Internet magnate on the Russian market, whose strategy is to develop a single, integrated platform of communication and entertainment online services, and who also owns the both biggest Social Networks in the former USSR countries, continues to grow really fast. This fact probably irritates the main competitors Facebook and Yandex, nevertheless the corporate press department announced, that in August 2013 the audience of Mail.Ru Group increased by 5.5% and hereby reached 103.6 M. unique visitors worldwide. The number of daily audience of Mail.Ru’s projects grew significantly as well and amounts to 35.7 M. visitors.
Jus to recap: according to the data of research company ComScore, the number of Social Networks users in Russia reached about 56 M. users, which is 85% of the whole Internet audience of the country. That confirms the fact, that “Russian” people are the most progressive social media users word wide and this market has lots of perspectives from the business point of view.
