Mail.Ru Group sold its share of 39,95% on Russian bookmarking and information service Subscribe.ru and announced its withdraw from shareholders board. The company’s press service didn’t make public any details about the transaction. The share of equities was sold to another shareholder.
Mail.Ru Group owned Subscribe.ru since 2007. It is not the first online project which was sold because of the new strategic orientation of the company. According to the new strategy Communitainment (community + entertainment) the company intends to invest more and more in entertainment and media projects. The first steps in this direction have been already done successfully, i.e. myChat – chat service similar to What’s App, has been recently launched by Mail.Ru Group.
