Social Recruiting in Russia: Every fifth Russian looks for job on the Internet

According to the newest research of Superjob.ru, online matching portal for job seekers and employers, every Russian in the age of 18- 45 looks for employment opportunities on the internet. About 18% of the interviewees have already used social networks to find their dream working place. Unfortunately only 3% were satisfied with results. The most active social job seekers are Internet users in the ages of 18-27, who are active on “VKontakte”, “Moi Mir” and business network LinkedIn.

As already mentioned, the Russian social networks “VKontakte”, “Odnoklassniki” and “MoiMir” (belongs to MailGroup.ru) are still the market leaders, followed by Livejournal and Facebook. As to the business networking, near the local business network Professionali.ru, which has about 5 Mio. registered professionals, and business networking leader MoiKrug.ru from Yandex, LinkedIn becomes more and more important for global employment opportunities. According to the latest data from 2012 the Russian audience made about 460K of the LinkedIn users ( 81% men and 19% women). The most popular industries are Information Technology and Services, Computer Software, Telecommunications, Banking, Marketing and Advertising.
